I don't think there is anybody. I mean, Sarah Silverman is offered up to us as the new comedy star and her gig is making fun of people who are mentally retarded. But she's doing it ironically, so it's supposed to be funny. Oh, I see. So, I think there is no groundbreaking comedy. I was not happy when standup comics replaced rock and roll in the 1980s - 1990s, which it did for a time, but really considering the state of rock and roll at the time it is not surprising. If you give me a choice between an Andrew Dice Clay show and a Poison concert, I would probably choose...um. Can we skip ahead to the 2000s?
Life is funny, I laugh all the time. Standup comics are not. The last great comic was Bill Hicks and he died.
